Edgar Roark, 72, of Coldiron passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the Mountain View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pineville. Born on July 31, 1941 in Harlan County, Edgar was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a factory worker for Howard Mize Machine Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Roark and Josephine Saylor Roark and one brother-in-law, Bob Watkins.
He is survived by four children, Edgar (Eddie) D. Roark, Harlan; Roy Anthony Roark and wife Tamera, Wallins; Robert (Bobby) Earl Roark, Molus; and Kenneth Greg Roark and wife Tammy, Wallins; one brother, Harold Roark and wife Edna, Molus; one sister, Elsie Watkins, Cincinnati, OH.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Isaiah, Brittany, Mark and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 6-10 p.m. at the Jessie’s Creek Community Church at Coldiron.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Sunday, September 29, 2013, at the church with Reverend Jeremy Blevins and Reverend Carl Canterbury officiating.
Burial will follow in Uplands Cemetery, Hulen, KY with Military Rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Harlan Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
