Olen Fuson, Sr., 81, of Ages, passed away suddenly Monday, September 23, 2013, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born January 27, 1932 in Ages he had lived here most of his life. Olen was a coal miner, a carpenter and believed in the Church of God Faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Fuson and Nannie Henson Fuson; a brother, Arvil Fuson; two sisters, Mildred Massingill and Lee June Burke; a grandson, Robert Justin Ditty, and a special son-in-law, Bobby Ditty.
Survivors include his special friend, Brenda Rapier, Ages; his children, Olen Fuson, Jr., and wife, Brenda, Williamsburg; Vicki Rapier, Harlan; and Vivian Clem, Cawood; two brothers, Richard Fuson, Jr., Middletown, OH; and James E. Fuson, Sr., Ages; five sisters, Helen Kelsey, Vandalia, OH; Theda May Hensley, Atlanta, GA; Crystal Anderson, Tazewell, TN; Lana Sue Chandler, Knoxville, TN; and Margaret Diane Daniels, Shields.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Teri Jo Fuson and Lori Shea Fuson, both of Williamsburg, KY; and Brandon Kyle Ditty, Georgetown, KY; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 until 9 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Harrison officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. Military rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.
