Andrew Tuttle, age 82 of Benham, KY, left this life peacefully, surrounded by his family, to go fish the waters of Heaven with his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY following a long illness. He was born July 25, 1931 to the late Thomas and Adina Emory Tuttle in Carey, KY.

Andrew was a very talented fisherman while on this earth. He also was a coal miner for over 30 years. But, he was more than just a miner, more than just a fisherman; he was a fisher of souls for the Lord. He was a dedicated member of the Sandhill Baptist Church for 28 years and loved everyone there, especially his dear friend, Vernon Cornett. Andrew knew no stranger. He loved to talk about the Lord and reached out to others. A very kind and gentle soul, he will be sadly missed. He was employed for 25 years as a coal miner with International Harvester in Benham, KY.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Sue Hughett Tuttle; son, Paul Denman Tuttle; brother, Leonard Tuttle; and sister, Hazel Tuttle Burkhart.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Paula Tuttle Powers and husband, Chris, of Benham, Kathy Tuttle of Cumberland, Kenneth Tuttle and Tammy Tuttle, both of Benham; a proud grandpa to his grandchildren, Chris Lewis of Cumberland, David Lee Lewis, Christopher Powers, and Andrea Tuttle, all of Benham; great grandchildren, Alexis Perkins and Haley Lewis; brothers, Frank Tuttle of Sellersburg, IN, William Tuttle and wife, Carolyn, of Toledo, OH, Chester Tuttle and wife, Becky, of Indianapolis, IN, Delbert Tuttle and wife, Velma, of Whitehouse, TN; sisters, Doris Tuttle King of Greenbush, MI and Mary Tuttle Grubs and husband, Bud, of Sellersburg, IN; a host of other family and all his friends of the Straight Creek Boat Dock, whom he considered to be his family.

The family will receive friends between 5 – 9 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2013, in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013, at 1 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in the Benham Cemetery in Benham, KY. Members of the Short Arm Gang Motorcycle Club will serve as pallbearers.
