Elaine Wilson, executive director Office for Adventure Tourism, was the keynote speaker at the annual Tri-City Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet held on Thursday at the Benham School House Inn. Wilson stressed the importance of working together to make Harlan County a tourist designation.


Receiving the Youth Organization Award from the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce was the Tri-City Little League. President Allen Layne, right accepted the award on behalf of the organization. Presenting the award to Layne was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce award for Civic Organization was the Harlan County Soil Conservation. Accepting the award on behalf of the organization were from left: Will Clem, Chamber President Jeff Wilder who made the presentation, Susie Mavinidis, Ken Jones and Dr. Murph Green.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce award for Business/Healthcare was Quantum Healthcare. Accepting the award on behalf of the organization was Nurse Practitioner Chris Lewis, right. Presenting the award was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce award for Entrepreneur was Carroll Engineering. Accepting the award on behalf of the company was Ken Jones, right. Presenting the award was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce Community Service award was Cumberland resident Roland “Pee Wee” Cornett, right. Presenting the award was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce’s Tony Turner Leadership Award was Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program Director Jeff Whitehead, right. Presenting the award was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce’s President’s Award was Cumberland resident Jeremy Williams. Presenting the award was Chamber President Jeff Wilder.


Receiving the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce Public Service Award was Harlan Circuit Court Clerk Paul Williams, who was unable to attend the ceremony.
