As part of a lesson on character, students in Terri Jenkins’ class at Cumberland Elementary School assembled “cheer bags” for patients undergoing chemotherapy at the University of Kentucky’s Markey Cancer Center. Students collected items to cheer up and comfort patients. They also made cards for encouragement and support. The bags will be delivered to the Whitney-Hendrickson Building at Markey during the next few weeks.
