Laid off miner Joshua Scott, right, 25 of Pineville, traveled to Harlan County to put in his application. Taking applications were Tonya McCullough, left, Patriot Coal’s Highland Mine Human Resources Manager, and Doug Bender, Patriot Coal’s Highland Mine Operations Manager.
