A Lynch man is facing a theft charge after he allegedly sold appliances from the home he was renting.
Robby Johnson, 30, was arrested by Benham City Police Officer Ryan Shephard on Tuesday and charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
According to the arrest warrant, Shephard stated Johnson took the water heater and heat pump out of the home he was renting and sold them. The home is owned by Gwen Blair.
Johnson was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.
In other police activity:
* Dianne Brown, 40, of Cumberland, was arrested by Constable Robert Haywood on Tuesday.
The arrest warrant stated Ginger Parsons Parks swore out a complaint alleging Brown passed a forged check in the amount of $3,000 at Don’s Super Saver in Harlan on Sept. 6. The warrant also stated Brown knew JP Morgan Chase Bank would not honor the check.
Brown was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond;
* Misty Lowe, 31, of Pathfork, was arrested on an indictment warrant Monday by Kentucky State Police Trooper Josh Howard. The indictment charges Lowe with receiving stolen property over $500.
The indictment states Lowe possessed various items belonging to Nathaniel Howard on March 21, knowing that the items had been stolen.
Lowe was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $1,000 full cash bond;
* William Cox, 31, of Dayhoit, was arrested by Harlan City Police Sgt. Mike Boggs on charges of theft by unlawful taking (auto), theft by deception including cold checks under $500 and theft by unlawful taking. Cox was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on full cash bonds totalling $12,000.
