Jordan Steele capped one of the most impressive seasons in recent Harlan Little League history on the biggest stage of the year as he led the Harlan Rotary Club Mets to a 13-6 win over the Jewelcraft Diamondbacks in the league championship game Tuesday.
Steele hit three home runs, including one of the inside park variety, to lead a 10-hit attack. James Gray added a double and single. James Chasteen had a triple. Carter Howard contributed a double. Nick Hunting, Isaac Kelly and Zack Potter added one single each.
With 12 strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings, Steele was also impressive on the mound. Gray finished the game with four strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Akin Akisanya led the Diamondbacks with an inside the park homer and a triple. Brady Adkins had a double. Hunter Blevins and Brooks Pugh each added singles.
Caleb Adkins pitched three innings with five strikeouts. Pugh pitched two innings with three strikeouts.
