Katelyn Reynolds scored on two spikes down the stretch as the Lady Bears maintained control.

Stevens and Reynolds continued their strong play at the net with another impressive performance Thursday.

“Their spiking has come a long way, and they are playing well as a team. They are setting the ball up like we practice every day. We want to set the ball up and get our points,” said Harlan County coach Donna Vicini.

The Lady Dragons were much more competitive in the second game.

Harlan fell behind early before an ace from Dani Miller tied the game at three. The Lady Dragons never trailed by more than three until Reynolds put Harlan County up 19-15 with a service point.

Harlan reduced the deficit to three after a tip point from Miller, but Harlan County’s Charielgh Mefford took control down the stretch. Mefford scored on a spike, a tip and a dig down the stretch as the Lady Bears pulled away with the win.

“We are so glad for Charleigh. She is an all-around good player that plays her heart out every game,” Vicini said. “It was good to see her get the points.”

Harris had five service points, four aces, two kills and one tip in the two games to lead Harlan County. Lauren Lee recorded three tips and a service point. Clem contributed two aces and two tips. Mefford tallied an ace, four points and a tip. Stevens had five kills, two aces and a tip, while Reynolds added four kills, an ace, one point and a tip.
