Students across the Harlan County School District have been collecting tabs from beverage cans for the Ronald McDonald House (RMH). The project was started by Rosspoint Elementary School to show support for second-grade student Cameron Crider. Cameron has been undergoing medical treatment in Cincinnati, Ohio. While there, his family has been visiting the RMH. Bus driver Denver Turner, right, spearheaded a drive at Black Mountain Elementary School that netted eight, five-gallon buckets of the tabs which were collected Black Mountain students and staff in the community from businesses, homes, churches and other facilities. The tabs and a large banner of support for Cameron were presented to Rosspoint Principal Bryan Howard, second from left, and teacher LeeAnn Clem, second from right. Also shown is Black Mountain Guidance Counselor Bonnie LeFevers at left.
