Employees of Lone Mountain Processing recently contributed their own money to help purchase Christmas gifts for students at Black Mountain Elementary School who would not be receiving much for Christmas. The employees gave $1,500 for the effort. Here, Lone Mountain Safety Manager Wilburn “Buddy” Howard presents the check to his son, Jered Howard, who is a teacher at Black Mountain. Some of the items purchased for the distribution are shown. The younger Howard and other teachers at the school approached students to get their “wish list” and then went shopping for the items. Some of the items were given to parents to allow the students to get them at Christmas, while other gifts were given to the students at school.
