A Coldiron man was arrested after allegedly drinking moonshine and punching a woman in the face.

Garrett Wayne Taylor, 62, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Jared Boggs on Wednesday.

According to the citation, a woman told police Taylor began drinking moonshine and became extremely aggressive. She told police Taylor struck her with his fist. He then grabbed a pistol and held it to her forehead and told her he was going to kill her. The woman then contacted police.

Taylor was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.

In other police activity, Natasha Lynn Green, 28, of Harlan, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Kenny Sergent on Wednesday.

According to the citation, Green was arrested on a warrant from Wise County, Virginia and taken to the Harlan County Detention Center. While Green was changing into her jail uniform, a deputy jailer observed a small baggie fall out of her pants. The baggie contained a crystal-like substance.

A separate citation states Wise County, Virginia was contacted and will extradite Green.

Green was charged with first-degree promoting contraband and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
