MANCHESTER — A portion of KY 38 in Harlan County at mile point 10 (1.5 miles east of Evarts) will remain closed until further notice.

The road closure is necessary to allow KYTC crews to remove debris obstructing the roadway and conduct slide repair operations.

While work is in progress, KY 179 (non-commercial vehicles) and KY 38 (into Virginia) will be used as detours.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
