HARROGATE, Tenn. — Commercial Bank, based in Harrogate, Tennessee, officially has opened its doors in Newport with two branches formerly known as National Bank of Tennessee. Commercial BancGroup, Inc., holding company for Commercial Bank, announced the acquisition of National Bank of Tennessee, through bankruptcy proceedings earlier this year.

Terry Lee, CEO of Commercial Bank said, “Our goal during this historic change is to earn the trust and confidence of our new customers. Although a few changes are inevitable, we are working hard to minimize any inconveniences. We stand behind our mission: to create positive experiences for every customer, every day. With that, the name of the bank will change, but you will still have friendly familiar faces waiting to serve you at your favorite branch.”

Commercial Bank, a family-owned community bank with hometown values and philosophies of doing business, is known for its commitment to serve and help improve the lives of people, families, and businesses in the areas they operate. Lee says, “Customers will be able to thrive and grow as they take advantage of new technology and exciting benefits that come with being a Commercial Bank customer.”

This acquisition makes Commercial Bank the seventh largest community bank in the state of Tennessee with total assets approaching $1 billion.
