SOMERSET — Beginning April 10, Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County between mile points 50.7 (Laurel/Rockcastle county line) and 52 will be reduced to two lanes in both directions. The lane reductions are necessary for pavement improvements.
Northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes each week beginning Sunday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. EDT each day for the duration of the project.
On the following dates both north and southbound lanes of I-75 will be reduced to one lane between 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. EDT:
• April 19 through April 21
• April 25
• May 1
• May 17 through May 18
• May 24 through May 25
• June 5
• June 8
In additions, no lane closures will occur on April 17 through April 18 or May 27 through May 30.
Speed limits will be reduced from 70 to 55 mph through the work zone and double fines will be in effect.
Work is scheduled to be completed by July 1. The duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations.
