Jordan Smith has been busy since winning season nine of The Voice — spending the past six months selling over 1 million singles, making The Voice history by landing eight songs in the iTunes Top 10, the first artist from any season to hit the iTunes Top 10 every single week of the Live Rounds, and performing at numerous nationwide events.
All the while promoting his current cd, breaking The Voice records and being televised repeatedly at numerous events, the young artist has been in the studio working on his highly anticipated debut album, Something Beautiful (LightWorkers Media/Republic Records).
The album will be available everywhere March 18 but those close to his hometown are in for a special treat — Smith will be holding a special hometown release party. Fans can come to the Harlan Walmart at 11 a.m. on Friday to meet with Smith, have their photo taken with the talent and have their CD signed. Smith will be on site to meet with fans until 1 p.m.
The album is said to contain both original and cover tracks which allow Smith the opportunity to showcase his talent and range. The cover tracks contain songs produced by legends such as Grammy Award winning producer David Foster, who has worked with the likes of Céline Dion, Michael Bublé and Josh Groban, and modern hit-maker Stephan Moccio who is known for his work with The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding and Miley Cyrus.
Smith was in Bell County on Friday to make an announcement with Brian O’Brien of The Big One 106.3.
Smith has announced he will be the headlining entertainment for the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in May. According to O’Brien, ticket prices have not been set yet but will go on sale on Thursday. Smith will be performing at the kickoff of the festival at the Bell County High School gymnasium on May 22. Main Street Director Jacob Roan sent word to Smith about excited everyone was to have Smith participating in the event.
