Man arrested for burglary, endangerment

A man is facing charges including wanton endangerment after allegedly pushing his way into a residence.

Wayne Middleton, 41, of Cawood, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Freeman on Saturday.

According to a press release, Middleton was arrested on two warrants stemming from a burglary in Cawood. The warrants state that Middleton pushed his way into a Cawood residence. He was in possession of a box cutter knife and charged toward an individual in the residence. Middleton was swinging the box cutter while threatening to kill a male in the residence.

Middleton was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on two full cash bonds totalling $15,000.

Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputies Denny Jones and Will Pope assisted.

In other police activity:

• Edna Barger, 43, of Bledsoe was arrested on Friday by Jones for probation violation. She was additionally served with a warrant for failure to appear in Perry County. Barger was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. Pope assisted in the arrest;

• Tiffany Marie Carver, 28, of Baxter, was arrested on Sunday by Harlan City Police Sgt. Mike Boggs for a probation violation. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;

• Ryan K. Harris, 39, of Harlan, was arrested for probation violation by Harlan City Police Sgt. Jeff Owens on Saturday. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;

• James Lawson, 41, of Loyall, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Lewis for probation violation on Friday. Lawson was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;
