Rosspoint wins Kentucky Governor’s Cup

Rosspoint Elementary School won top honors in the District 83 Kentucky Governor’s Cup middle school academic competition. Wallins was second, followed by Cawood and James A. Cawood.

Top finishers in each category advance to the regional competition to be hosted by Harlan Middle School on Feb. 13.

Results in the individual assessments were:

Mathematics: Emerson Johnson, Rosspoint, first; Taylor Spurlock, Wallins, second; J.J. Ramsey, Cawood, third; Noah Saylor, Wallins, fourth; and Bethany Cox, Cawood, fifth.

Science: Brett Roark, Wallins, first; Emerson Johnson, Rosspoint, second; Jimmy Rouse, Wallins, third; Jared Creech, Cawood, fourth; and Cassidy Coker, JACES, fifth.
