LOUISVILLE (AP) — Forecasters are calling for snow showers to sweep across Kentucky beginning on Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service is calling for up to 3 inches of snow to fall in parts of central Kentucky, though deeper accumulations are possible in some areas.
The weather service says snow showers are expected to move into Kentucky from the west at around daybreak and continue through much of the day. While central Kentucky is expected to get the largest snowfall, the weather service said areas of eastern Kentucky near and north of the Mountain Parkway could get 1-2 inches and southern areas could get up to an inch. The forecast for western Kentucky calls for light snow.
Officials with the Kentucky Department of Highways say roads will be treated in advance of the coming snow.
