MANCHESTER – A portion of KY 987 near the Bell/Harlan County line will be closed beginning Nov. 30 and is expected to conclude Dec. 28.
The closure will begin at mile point 18.5 in Bell County, and end at mile point 0.5 in Harlan County near KY 2005. The road closure is necessary to allow KYTC crews to perform maintenance operations to correct an embankment failure.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The date, time and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
