The alleged theft of an iPhone from a dental office employee has led to the arrest of a Loyall man on a theft charge.

Michael Bennett, 19, of Loyall was arrested at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday by Harlan City Police Officer Derrick Noe.

According to the citation, Bennett was at Matt Nunez’s office and took an iPhone belonging to an employee. The phone was tracked via a trafficking application installed on the phone. A witness stated Bennett had the phone with him while in her car going from the office to Woodland Plaza. When Bennett was confronted, he went inside a Family Dollar store and turned off the phone, disabling the tracking application. Bennett refused to tell police where he hid the phone.
