BCHS student killed in wreck

A Bell County High School student was killed Monday morning in a wreck.

According to a release from the Bell County Coroner’s Office, it was requested to respond to a fatal accident on U.S. 119 near the Page community.

Upon arrival, Deputy Coroner Jason Steele pronounced 17-year-old David Blake Jackson dead at the scene of the wreck at 7:51 a.m. Steele states that Jackson died from injuries he received during the course of the accident, in which his vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a field.

Jackson was a resident of Bell County and attended Bell County High School, according to Steele.

Upon completion of the scene investigation by Bell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jared Smith, Jackson was removed from the scene and taken for an examination by the Bell County Coroner.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of this accident investigation.

The Kentucky State Police, Bell County EMS, Bell County Volunteer Fire Department, Kentucky Department of Highways, as well as the Bell County Coroner’s Office, all coordinated efforts at the scene of the incident.
