A man is facing charges of burglary and possession of marijuana after police allegedly found him leaving the scene.

Phillip M. Krol, 33, of Harlan, was arrested by Harlan City Police Officer George Young on Friday.

According to the citation, Young and Harlan City Police Sgt. Jeff Owens arrived at the scene at 111 North Cumberland Avenue and heard noise coming from the third floor. Krol was leaving the apartment where the incident occurred. The apartment door had been kicked in and the inside lock was broken. Krol’s right shoe was found inside the apartment. Krol resides in a nearby apartment. Police found a green leafy substance in his right front shirt pocket.

Kroll was charged with first-degree burglary and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.

In other police activity:

• Gary Wayne Stewart, 45, and Misty Richardson, 37, both of Lynch, were arrested on Saturday by Lynch City Police Chief Hunter Luttrell.

According to the citations, Richardson and Stewart entered a residence on Church Street and took two debit cards. Stewart was found in possession of one hypodermic needle.

Stewart was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,000 full cash bond.

Richardson was charged with second-degree burglary. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,000 full cash bond;

• Geneva Rhymer, 41, of Coalgood, was arrested by Harlan City Police Officer Tyler Hensley on Sunday. She was charged with careless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol of drugs, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,500 full cash bond;

• David Stewart, 27, of LeJunior, was served an indictment warrant by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Brewer on Friday. He was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age. Stewart was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond;

• Stanley Fee, 37, of Gulston, was served an indictment warrant by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Denny Jones. Fee was indicted for first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $3,000 full cash bond.
