The 15th annual Harlan County Christian Women’s Retreat is planned for Sept. 17 at Harlan Christian Church, located at 130 South First Street in downtown Harlan, featuring an all-day live simulcast with Beth Moore. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
Moore is a wife, mother and world-renowned Christian speaker. She founded Living Proof Ministries in 1994 with the purpose of teaching women how to love and live on God’s Word. She also ministers to women internationally through her written Bible studies, mission work and radio program, as well as in her home church in Houston, Texas.
Tickets include a continental breakfast, lunch, door prizes and praise and worship at 9:15 a.m. with Common Ground. The event is live-streamed in real time from Sears Centre Arena, Hoffman Estates, Illinois, near Chicago, and ends at 5:15 p.m.
The interdenominational Harlan County Christian Women’s Retreat is planned yearly by a steering committee composed of women from different Harlan County churches and seeks to reach out to women from all over the county, from all walks of life and from every circumstance, purposefully sharing God’s love and saving grace. They seek a closer walk with God, encouragement to be their best selves, to be Christian examples and to bring others to Christ.
Moving among several Harlan County churches and community venues in Benham and Harlan with a variety of Christian women speakers and teachers over the last 15 years, this is the second year in a row HCCWR has sponsored Beth Moore’s live simulcast. Around 110 women attended last year’s event. Women come to the event every year from homes across Harlan County where the economy, drugs, health or family issues may be of grave concern.
Women are encouraged to take this opportunity to come together in fellowship, thanksgiving and worship, and to pray for and support each other, loved ones, the community, nation and world.
All women are invited and welcome to join in fellowship, praise and Beth Moore’s knowledgeable, scriptural, loving and humorous Bible instruction.
Tickets are $25, payable to HCCWR. You may send checks to HCCWR, c/o Vera Williams, 14473 Highway 522, Cumberland, KY 40823. Pre-registration is encouraged to insure a study guide. T-shirts will be available for purchase.
