MANCHESTER — A portion of U.S. 421 (Harlan-Hyden Road) in Harlan County at mile point 25.9 will be reduced to one lane beginning today and is expected to conclude on Friday.
Temporary signals will be utilized 24/7 during the lane closure.
Semi-tractor trailer traffic and wide loads will be prohibited during the daily-scheduled work hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
The lane closure and traffic restriction are necessary to allow KYTC crews to perform repairs to the roadway embankment.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The date, time and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
