Portion of KY 840 to be closed

Roadway repairs set to begin Monday

MANCHESTER — A portion of KY 840 in Harlan County at mile points 2.6 – 2.8 (junction of U.S. 119) will be closed beginning Aug. 29 and is expected to conclude on Sept.2.

The road closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

The road closure is necessary to allow contractors to perform roadway repairs.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
