Kentucky State Police Trooper Kenny Abner arrested an Ages man for allegedly taking and using another person’s debit card.
According to the warrant obtained by Abner, Darrell Wayne Johnson, 49, took a woman’s purse on July 1. The purse contained personal information and a debit card. Johnson took the purse from the woman’s home with the intent to deprive her of property. Johnson and two co-defendants used the card to withdraw $603 and $103 from and ATM machine located at BB&T Bank in Harlan.
Johnson was charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500 and fraudulent use of a credit card under $10,000. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
In other police activity:
• Kristi Turner, 39, of Harlan, was arrested on an indictment warrant by Harlan County Sheriff’s Det. Danny Lewis.
According to the four-count indictment handed down by the grand jury on June 29, Turner introduced dangerous contraband into the Harlan County Detention Center on Oct. 27, 2013. The contraband was buprenorphine.
Turner was indicted for first-degree promoting contraband, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Turner was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,500 full cash bond;
• Buddy M. Horn, 49, of Inez, was arrested on Tuesday by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Derrick Akal. He was charged with flagrant non-support and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $3,500 full cash bond.
