The film synopsis:
Susan Smith’s life is a struggle. Mother of two, wife of the local drug dealer and master of working the system to keep her family one step above poverty level. Susan wishes she were anywhere other than Pikeville, Kentucky. Opportunity arrives in the form of Mark Putnam, an FBI agent on his first assignment looking to make his name in the bureau. He’s hoping to catch a local criminal responsible for a series of daring bank robberies and Susan, with her connections on the wrong side of town, is the perfect informant. The agent-informer relationship is intoxicating for both of them and soon they find themselves crossing the line. When the case is solved Susan is eager to start a new life but soon realizes Mark’s promises were nothing more than that. Susan grows reckless, descending into drinking, drugs and bragging. Mark realizes she’s a loose cannon who could derail everything he’s worked for. More than a gripping thriller, this is a character study about the power dynamics involved in becoming a FBI informant and how far someone is willing to go to achieve the life they believe they deserve.
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Terminator Genisys) along with Jack Huston (The Longest Ride, Boardwalk Empire) have signed on to play the leading roles.
