A man is facing drug charges including possession of methamphetamine after police responded to a complaint in Cawood.
Joseph Peace, 25, of Cawood, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Lewis on Thursday.
According to a press release, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on two subjects approaching residents in the Three Point area of Cawood. Deputy Danny Lewis responded to the area and located the individuals. Upon locating the subjects it was discovered that Peace had an active Harlan County District Court warrant. Through further investigation drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine was located on Peace.
Peace was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
In other activity, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office assisted Probation and Parole in the Lynch area attempting to locate individuals who had absconded probation and parole:
• Chase Pennington, 21, of Lynch, was arrested by the Office of Probation and Parole and charged with probation violation. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;
• Erica Jenkins, 20, of Lynch was arrested by the Office of Probation and Parole and charged with parole violation. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
