A Harlan man faces multiple charges including possession of marijuana after police allegedly found marijuana after performing a traffic stop.
Boyd Robert Brown, 44, was arrested on Monday by Loyall City Police Chief Mike Lunsford.
According to the citation, police received a complaint that Brown was possibly driving under the influence and had marijuana and pills in the vehicle he was driving. Lunsford stopped Brown on Fifth Street in Rio Vista. Brown continued traveling approximately 50 yards before stopping after Lunsford turned on his police vehicle’s blue lights. Brown appeared nervous and his eyes were bloodshot. Police noticed a small bag of suspected marijuana laying on the ground that Brown had attempted to discard. Brown was taken into custody, and Loyall City Police Officer Mitch Alford transported him to Harlan ARH Hospital. Brown was read implied consent and submitted to a blood test. Results of the blood test are pending.
