Veterans receive a helping hand


Photos submitted The Mountain Trail Auxiliary and VFW Post 5171 hosted a Sock Drive for the Veterans Transitional Center, located in District 14, during April. Over 250 pairs of socks were delivered to the center on May 5 by auxiliary members Carla Hatfield Barrett and Kathy Hoiska.


VFW Post 5171 in Cumberland and VFW Post 3769 in Pikeville presented WWII veteran Hollie Morris with a much needed wheelchair platform.
