100th birthday celebrated


Edna Baute, formerly of Wallins, celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 27 with family and friends. Born on Feb. 29, 1916, Edna had lived most of her life in Wallins where she taught school for 38 years. She was a faithful member of Wallins Church of God until she moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to join her family. She was a much loved member of the Wallins community and is well remembered for cooking for friends during her open houses and the Wallins School Reunion each Labor Day. She has three children: Ronald, Gerald and Debbie, of Florida and Knoxville, Tennessee.
