A Wrinkle in Time, adapted from the novel by Madeline L’Engle, will be staged by the Barter Players at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
The show, presented by Pro-Art Association, is for third-grade and up.
On a dark and stormy night, the eccentric Mrs. Whatsit arrives at the home of Meg Murray, a tomboy who doesn’t fit in at her high school. Meg’s scientist father had vanished more than two years ago under mysterious circumstances.
With the aid of Mrs. Whatsit and her friends, Meg and her gifted brother, Charles Wallace, are transported through time and space on a mission to rescue their father from frightening forces which hold him prisoner on another planet.
John Glore’s wildly theatrical adaptation brings this acclaimed story magically to life.
Tickets are $15, adults; $10, seniors; and $5, students. Students at UVa-Wise and MECC, as well as children ages five and under, are admitted free of charge.
This program is partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts.
