A concert by Wayne Henderson and Helen White with the Jeff Little Trio will be presented at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap, Va.
Wayne Henderson is a National Heritage Award recipient, honored for his craftsmanship as a luthier and for his renowned finger-style Appalachian guitar playing. Henderson’s instruments are coveted worldwide and he sports a long waiting list for his guitars, mandolins and banjos.
Singer, fiddler, guitarist, tunesmith Helen White has toured extensively with Henderson in both the United States and Europe. She is the founder and served as a regional director of the Junior Appalachian Musicians program.
Jeff Little is a remarkable piano player with a distinctive two-handed style, much influenced by the mountain flat-picked guitar tradition. His performance is breathtaking in its speed, precision and clarity.
Together these musicians make for a truly spectacular show.
The program is partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, and is presented by Pro-Art Association.
Admission is $15, adults; $10, seniors; and $5, students. College students and children under age five are admitted free of charge.
