Lottie Moon Circle meets

The Central Baptist Church (Cumberland) Women’s Missionary Union Lottie Moon Circle met on Sept. 15 at the church.

After prayer, Betsy Colinger led the mission program, From a Cupcake, relating our Christian and mission life to the smell, flavor and taste of the cupcake.

Geri Franklin read the names of missionaries celebrating birthdays on Sept. 15 with Mildred Perry leading the prayer.

Perry opened the business session with the treasury report. Ladies are continuing to collect used stamps, pop tabs and snacks for one school classroom. Pharmacy student Emily Dixon is embarking on a mission trip, and the group will ask her to relay information about it.

The annual fish fry was held on Sept. 27 after the evening service. Ladies of the church were asked to provide side dishes. A soup, chili, stew and salad dinner is planned Oct. 11 after the morning service.

On Tuesdays, Teresa Dixon is holding a Bible study beginning at 6 p.m.

Attendees were Betsy Colinger, Mildred Perry, Geri Franklin, Liz Newsome, Jane Neverstitch, Teresa Dixon and Dolores Shelton.
