A large crowd sorted through an assortment of hardback, softback and audio books available free of charge during the annual “Book Giveaway” hosted by the Harlan County Homemakers Book Club on Tuesday.
Not letting the ladies out-do them, a large crowd of men attended the “Book Giveaway” event where they browsed through tables of books available free of charge.
Tabitha Sage, of Kildav, attended the “Book Giveaway” where she was also given a free lunch bag filled with all sorts of goodies. Assisting her were extension staff Sara Beth Hatfield, left, and Pat Duncan.
Also available during the annual Harlan County Homemakers “Book Giveaway” was cake and refreshments. Picking up a piece of cake was Merletta Lunsford, left, of Harlan. She was being served by book club members Mary Lynn Pace and Cathy Marlow.
Picking out a book for papaw and nanny was Nathan Gibbons, 4 of Harlan. Nathan loves books and loves having his grandparents, Leon and Teresa Gibbons, read to him.
Trying to find books of interest were Sunshine residents, from left, Jim Cain, Lisa Anderson and Raymond Anderson. Assisting them was book club member Polly McLain.
