Lawson, Johnson to wed


Mr. and Mrs. Britt Lawson Jr., of Putney, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Bethany Belle Lawson, to Matthew Edward Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Johnson, of Corbin. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Astor and Helen Holcomb and Britt Sr. and Hazel Lawson. Bethany is a 2002 graduate of James A. Cawood High School and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. She is presently employed by the Harlan County Board of Education as a speech-language pathologist. The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Clarence and Carrie Johnson and Herman and Marie Lewis. Matthew is a 2000 graduate of Cumberland High School and graduated from Clear Creek Bible College. He is presently employed by Rocky Ford Baptist Church in Hustonville as pastor and at Settles Backhoe Service in Danville. The wedding will be held at 1 p.m. on June 18 at Putney Bible Church in Putney. A reception will follow the ceremony in the fellowship hall. No local invitation will be sent. Family and friends are welcome.
