The Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College recently hosted Super Saturday on the Cumberland campus.
The event, held last month, featured games for children and teenagers along with free food. The first 100 people who showed up won T-shirts, and trophies were given away to those who won first and second place in the games, which included a water balloon toss, corn hole and a relay race.
More than 150 people were in attendance.
Several college departments and programs including Academic Advantage, Ready to Work, EPIC, Upward Bound Math Science, AHEC and Southeast Scholars were on hand to help with the festivities and to answer questions about the college.
Super Saturday is an extension of the annual student recruitment initiative Super Sunday. Super Sunday specifically targets potential students and their families who are African-American, low income or minorities with information and resources to support college admissions and enrollment.
This year’s Super Sunday event was held in February.
