Main Street Pineville has continuously brought entertainment opportunities to the downtown area in an effort to promote their mission of working together to create a vibrant historic downtown community.
The annual Kidsfest is scheduled as an all-day event on Aug. 6 on the courthouse square. The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature free food, games, inflatables and giveaways.
Dinner on Main is next and is sponsored by Long’s Pic-Pac. The event will take place on Aug. 11 at the courthouse square.
A classic movie night is scheduled for Aug. 18. The Wizard of Oz can be seen at the Bell Theater at 7:30 p.m. for $3.
On Sept. 8, the Bell Theater will host a comedy night. For a $10 admission fee, those who love to laugh can watch Tom Mabe. The show is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Children’s Reading Foundation of Appalachia-KY will be on site at the events giving away books to all children in attendance.
Recent events includes musical talent Tyler Smith performing at the Bell Theater. The performance included songs from Smith’s upcoming EP entitled Accelerate, which is due out later this summer. Tickets for the event were only $5. Another recent event was dive-in movie night — Jaws. This event was sponsored by The Pineville Rotary Club and the city of Pineville at 8 p.m. on July 14 at the Pineville City Pool. Classic movie night was one week later at 7:30 p.m. at the Bell Theater. Admission is $3 and the featured film was Back to the Future.
Additionally, MSP recently held its annual Fourth of July fireworks show. Hundreds of people filled downtown Pineville for the annual event that has become a tradition. The Independence Day event was followed by a pool party the next day.
