Fast start not enough to stop Harlan’s skid

April 16, 2014

A four-run first inning got Harlan off to a great start Tuesday, but Cumberland Gap took over from there and pulled away for a 10-4 victory.

Madison Noe and Anna Karst opened the game with singles and both scored on Madison Brewer’s double. Jourdan Ledford followed with an RBI single. Shanae Thomas also had an RBI.

The Harlan offense was led by Noe with two hits. Karst, Brewer and Ledford each added one hit.

Noe suffered the loss on the mound as she gave up 10 runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

Harlan (2-7) returns to action Thursday at home against Letcher Central.
