Karate students place, earn belts

Students of Howard’s Shotokan Karate Dojo in Cumberland participated in the East Tennessee Karate Championship in Sweetwater on Oct. 19. They brought home 13 trophies for all their hard work. Howard’s Shotokan Karate now has the first Brown Belt class. These individuals tested for their Brown Belt status on Oct. 23 with the help of a visiting judge from Hazard, Sensei Roger Holland.
