An alleged forced entry into a residence has led to the arrest of an Evarts woman.

Ashley N. Burkhart, 27, was arrested by Probation and Parole Officer Zach Goins on Monday on a warrant stemming from an alleged Oct. 16 incident.

According to the complaint, Rhonda Helton claims that on Oct. 16 Burkhart entered her home by force. Burkhart barged through the door and pushed Helton several times, putting Helton in fear for her safety.

Goins said he is Burkhart’s supervising officer, so when the warrant came into the probation and parole office he served it on Burkhart. The arrest led to a probation violation charge.

Helton was charged with second-degree burglary and a probation violation for a felony offense and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond secured by 10 percent.

In other police activity, Deniece Renee Gatewood, 38, was arrested Tuesday by the Office of Probation and Parole for a parole violation. Gatewood was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond.
