Nola Sizemore|Daily EnterpriseAt approximately 3 a.m. Saturday, the Harlan Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at 307 Bridge Street in the Fairview section of Harlan. Fire Chief Linette Hutchison said upon their arrival the home was “fully involved with flames coming out the front door and the roof.” The home was owned by B&B Realty and Leasing LLC and occupied by Bill Witt Sr., Mary Thomas, Robert Witt and Bill Witt Jr. Hutchison said everyone “was lucky to have escaped unharmed.” The Witt family, who were renting the home, was temporarily placed at the Comfort Inn, in Harlan, by Harlan County Emergency Management Agency. The fire is still under investigation at this time.
